General Usage

Your use of Mosaic is governed by the contract your school or district signed with Heartland School Solutions. If your school or district does not have an active contract with Heartland School Solutions, your use of Mosaic is governed by these terms instead.


Generative AI Functionality

By using Mosaic’s AI Assistant, you are agreeing that you will review the accuracy of the data that the AI Assistant generates before importing that data into your ingredients, menus, production records or inventory records. While Mosaic’s AI Assistant is intended to provide menu suggestions that comply with the NSLP and SBP, the AI Assistant is not intended to replace human review and fact-checking. Once you import AI-generated menu suggestions, it is your responsibility to run existing Mosaic reports to confirm that the menus are compliant with USDA regulations.


Community Recipe Sharing

Mosaic is designed to enable schools to comply with the USDA’s regulations pertaining to Federal school meal programs such as the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the School Breakfast Program (SBP). Through its Community functionality, Mosaic enables schools to find, save, and modify recipes that have been shared by other Mosaic users.

By using the Community function, you acknowledge that it is your responsibility to review the accuracy of the data you have downloaded before you add a recipe into any of your menus. Recipes that are shared using Mosaic’s Community function are available to all Mosaic users without restriction, and may also be used by the AI Assistant when generating menu suggestions. By sharing recipes using Mosaic’s Community function, you are releasing any ownership or other intellectual property claim you may have to the recipes. Please be mindful not to use any information that would identify you or your school or district when naming recipes that will be shared in the Community.
